WHEELING — West Virginia Northern Community College will hold a Cultural Awareness Workshop, titled “Six Things White People Should Know,” by Ron Scott from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Student Union on the Wheeling campus.
The event is free and includes lunch, but anyone interested in attending must register in advance by Thursday, Feb. 14.
Scott, who is the cultural diversity and community outreach coordinator at the YWCA, will speak on identifying racial prejudices, learning how racial biases can be counterproductive and realizing any demographic can lead to prejudices, bias and misconceptions.
