$10,000 Reward Offered in 2016 Tyler County Home Invasion
MIDDLEBOURNE — Tyler County is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator of a burglary that left two elderly residents beaten and robbed in their home.
In January 2016, Paul and Janice Wells were the victims of a burglary, during which the two were “viciously beaten and robbed,” according to a release from Tyler County Prosecuting Attorney D. Luke Furbee. On Tuesday, the Tyler County Commission authorized the reward for information leading to a conviction. The attack occurred at the Wells residence on Oil Ridge Road.
“Sheriff (Brian) Weigle and I are committed to doing everything we can to see the day when anyone responsible for perpetrating these despicable crimes upon Mr. and Mrs. Wells are brought to justice,” Furbee said in a release Friday. “If anyone has any information or knows anything at all about these crimes, please contact Detective Sgt. (Scott) Dalrymple at 304-758-4229.”
