Body Is Found In Ohio River Closer to Bridgeport Side
WHEELING — The Wheeling police and fire Departments were dispatched for a report of a man’s body in the back channel of the Ohio River, closer to the Bridgeport side, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
The 911 call was made by a boater on the river.
The body will be taken to the West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office in Charleston for positive identification, which could take several days.
Wheeling Police Detectives will be looking into possible missing persons cases with regional law enforcement agencies.
