ART WILEY

Art Wiley, in his 86th year, of Wheeling, passed away on April 24, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

He was born in Triadelphia, WV on August 25, 1933, the 10th child of the late Thomas E. and Margaret (Meger) Wiley.

Art was the owner of A.E. Wiley and Company Contracting for 42 years. He was a Korean War veteran in the U.S. Navy. He was a faithful member of St. Michael’s Catholic church with 20 years as a choir member and 25 years as an usher at the 11 o’clock mass. He also ushered at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, council 504; Holy Name Society of St. Michael’s; American Legion Post 200; Elm Grove Civics; Elm Grove Eagles Aerie 1891.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William Edward Wiley, Frederick Michael Wiley; four brothers, Clarence E., Wilbur J., James W, Walter T.; three sisters, Katherine Wallace, Wilda Mae Farmer and Ellen Burris.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janie (Zednik) Wiley; children, Karen A. (Bob) Bates, Pamela M. (Keith) Caldwell, Dianna M. (Chris) Harris, Thomas E. (Holly) Wiley, all of Wheeling; 10 grandchildren, Richard W. Koch, III, Julie A. White, Justin M. Caldwell, Sean M. Caldwell, Zachary T. Harris, Ava M. Harris, Olivia Q. Wiley, Spencer T. Wiley, Isaac M.C. Wiley, Maxwell C. Wiley; one great-grandson, Hunter A. Koch; one sister, Margaret Riding, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday April 28, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Rd, Wheeling, WV (304-232-2732 ) with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. Friends will also be received Monday April 29, 2019 from 9:30 until10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael Catholic Church at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
