One of Steubenville Councilwoman Kimberly Hahn's constituents is asking for just a little help. As Hahn explained last week, the woman lives solely on her Social Security checks.
Because of the time of the month they arrive, the woman sometimes is not able to pay her city utility bill on time. She has to pay late fees.
Could the utility bill due date be adjusted to avoid that?
No, Hahn was told. "It's not something our software vendor can do," Finance Director Dave Lewis said.
Understand, the woman is not trying to dodge payments -- just to avoid late fees. Surely there is some way she and others like her can be helped.
