As it has recently been reported that President Trump, during his first 773 days in office as chief executive of our great nation, has told, or tweeted, no fewer than 9,014 lies or false statements and counting, including an average of 22 verifiable untruths per day. Thus far in 2019, it appears, sadly at times, that many seem to be quite willing to simply give the president a "pass," when the credibility of virtually any other individual, serving in any capacity on any level, would be subject to serious consequences, as a result of such unacceptable, abhorrent behavior.
Also, recently, President Trump has proposed the largest budget in U.S. history, amounting to $4.7 trillion, which inexplicably includes massive cuts to critical programs, such as $818 billion to Medicare and $1.5 trillion to Medicaid, both very successful programs, which were created to assist senior citizens as well as the most vulnerable among us, as our national debt, which he promised to eliminate, continues to increase as never before. Programs which then-candidate Trump promised he would "protect and never cut."
Ever wonder why the president inaccurately accuses a plethora of those with whom he disagrees as being "low I.Q., stupid and poor academically," while he has taken legal action to ensure that the military boarding school he attended, as well as the Wharton School of Finance from which he earned a baccalaureate degree in 1968, are forbidden from ever releasing his academic transcripts or officially commenting on his classroom performance? Being deterred under the threat of legal action by President Trump seems a clear indication that the president has overstated his academic record as well.
Whereas former classmates, the very few who have been willing to comment and who are familiar with Trump, differ. One former student stated that Mr. Trump was by no means the outstanding student he has long claimed himself to be, but only a "marginal" student at best.
To date, President Trump has consistently displayed a shocking lack of knowledge and interest in history, government and foreign affairs. His recent disparaging comments made against the late senator and American hero John McCain are most disturbing, inappropriate and disrespectful, and although unfortunately not atypical for our current president, and unbecoming when spoken by anyone, let alone the president, when directed at a true American hero and patriot such as the late Senator McCain is simply inexcusable and, essentially, unforgivable.
