WHEELING – The Linsly girls’ swim team took 10 of the 11 events Wednesday to defeat Wheeling Central.
The team of Sydney West, Eve Scarpone, Samantha Schaal, and Carol Gao got first place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:07.53. Scarpone won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:12.63, and the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:18.86.
Carleigh West won the 200 IM clocking at 2:28.54 and the 500 freestyle at 5:51.56. Sydney West won the 100 backstroke at 1:04.80 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 59.10.
Schaal picked up the victory in the 100 butterfly at 1:18.49. The Cadets won the 200 freestyle relay at 1:59.64 with the team of Carleigh West, Schaal, Gao, and America Nuckles-Polen. Carleigh West, Sydney West, Scarpone, and Nuckles-Polen teamed up to win the 400 yard freestyle relay.
Wheeling Central’s lone victory came in the 50 yard freestyle when Jocie Humpe blazed to a 27.62 time.

WHEELING-Linsly swept all 11 events as it beat Wheeling Central
Drew Bastian, Tre Taylor, Kevin Pietz, and Liam McNeil teamed up for a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.89. Reese Boyd won the second event, the 200 freestyle, with a 1:59.47 time, and he won the 500 freestyle clocking in at 5.23:41.
Bastian took home the gold in the 200 IM at 2:17.55 while Cameron Thompson won the 50 freestyle at 23.44. Kevin Pietz won the 100 backstroke at 58.99 and the 100 butterfly at 57.56 while Tre Taylor won the 100 breaststroke, checking in at 1:06.54.
