Ohio County Schools To Stage “Sensory-Friendly” Halloween Event

WHEELING – Ghosts and goblins and friendly spirits are returning to Ohio County Schools, but they won’t be making much noise to scare anybody. The school district will host its annual sensory-friendly trunk-or-treat event from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Steenrod Elementary School. The event is planned with a focus on students with special needs and their siblings as a way they can enjoy Halloween festivities without the noises and stimulation that often upsets them.
