Rohals Celebrate Golden

Pete and Nancy Rohal of Weirton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1966, at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Steubenville. Pete Rohal is the son of the late Pete and Anna Rohal of Weirton. He was a science teacher, teaching anatomy and physiology and advanced biology, for more than 40 years at Weir High School. He is a lover of the great outdoors, having spent countless hours with his students and family identifying plants and flowers in state parks. Mary Jean and James L. Bonar of Wellsburg are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married July 14, 1956, in the First Presbyterian Church of Wellsburg with the Rev. Conrad Steinbrenner officiating. James Bonar is retired from Weirton Steel, serves Grove United Presbyterian Church of West Middletown, Pa., as treasurer of Christian education and a choir member, and is president of the board of directors of Franklin Cemetery Association. Mennillo Celebrates 95th

Virginia Petrini Mennillo of Warwood, Wheeling, celebrated her 95th birthday on Saturday. She was born Aug. 13, 1921, the daughter of the late Louis and Maryann Magistro Petrini. She was married to the late Marco Mennillo for 68 years. She worked at Cooke Wait, Sterling Drug and Warwood Stamping. Her family includes a son, Domenico “Butch,” and his wife, Julie, of Wheeling; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family hosted a surprise dinner for her Saturday at Undo’s in Elm Grove, Wheeling.
