Higher Vision Brings Bluegrass And Gospel to the Pennyroyal
FAIRVIEW — The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, May 13, featuring Higher Vision, a bluegrass and bluegrass gospel group based out of eastern Kentucky that thoroughly enjoys and believes in what they do.
Among the list of things that make them so successful is their love for the Lord, willingness to work hard to accomplish common goals, and the fact that they are like a family that travels and performs. They have toured over the last 20 years from the Mississippi coast up to Prince Edward Island, Canada, and all points in between.
On Dec. 15, 2006, they performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City as part of “Appalachian Christmas” presented by Christian Music Presenters. In 2001 the International Bluegrass Music Association nominated them as Emerging Artists of the Year. They showcased that same year at the International Bluegrass Music Association World Trade Show.
They were featured in both Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Now magazines as well as numerous other Bluegrass and Gospel publications.
The opening band for tonight’s show will be Frosty Morning.
The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person.
The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio, just off Interstate 70 at exit 198 in the westernmost end of Belmont County.
