At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, a caller on West Tacoma Road, Barnesville, reported a possible scam. The complainant said several calls from different numbers had been received. They reportedly told the complainant there were fraudulent charges on his Social Security number. The complainant was advised not to give any personal information if these calls are received in the future.
At 3 p.m. Wednesday, a caller on High Ridge Road, Bellaire, reported her juvenile daughter was being harassed.
At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, a resident on Wegee Road, Shadyside, reported a possible phone scam. The complainant said multiple calls were received. The caller reportedly informed them they had won a BMW and wanted them to come to Moundsville to pick up the car and a check. The complainant was advised not to give out personal information if these calls are received in the future.
At 10:37 a.m. Wednesday, a caller on Fulton Hill Road, Bellaire, reported someone stole their daughter’s wallet and I-pod from unlocked vehicle overnight.

At 1:49 a.m. Friday, a deputy on patrol found cattle in the road on High Ridge Road. The owner was contacted and the cattle were removed from the road.
At 11:35 p.m. Thursday, a person at restaurant on Mall Frontage Road reported a threatening incident. A deputy responded, spoke to both parties and took information for report.
At 10:13 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to residence on West Central Road, Bellaire, after central dispatch advised a squad had been called there for a 35-year-old male that had overdosed on heroin. The subject had turned purple and reportedly was found with a needle sticking out of his arm, according to the caller – the man’s mother. Upon arrival of the emergency squad the mother had called back to advised it was a “miracle” and that her son was now up and coming around. The report said the squad was then called off. Upon arrival of the deputy, the subjects would not answer the door, according to the report. Central dispatch reported there had been medical calls to the same address in the past. A deputy eventually made contact with the subject, who denied anything had happened. The deputy reported both subjects at the residence refused medical treatment.
At 12:11 a.m. Thursday, a deputy responded to a hotel on Reco Road in Union Township where people in a non-smoking room were reportedly “smoking dope.” The caller wanted the occupants removed from the property. According to the report, the individuals were escorted from the hotel and were waiting for a valid driver to pick them up.
At 12:10 a.m. Thursday, the department received a call regarding a raccoon that was possibly rabid at Adolph Street, Pease Township.

Dingey, 75, of 52676 Barton-Blaine Road, St. Clairsville, was taken to Wheeling Hospital by the Brookside Emergency Squad following an accident on U.S 40 in Pease Township. According to the report, Dingey was eastbound and had an apparent seizure. His vehicle crossed the center line, went off the left edge of the road in a right to left curve and struck a utility pole. The pole and lines came down and struck a car driven by William M. Jackson, 66, of St. Clairsville.

At 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, a resident on National Road, Colerain Township, reported someone drove through the yard and did some damage.
At 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, a caller at Echo Road, Pultney Township, requested an officer after a man reportedly had swung a pipe at him. The man left in a little green car, according to the report.
At 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, officials received a complaint regarding gunshots in the area of Morristown Street, Flushing. Complainants said it sounded like a 12-gauge. Officers responded but found nothing.
At 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Morristown-Flushing Road, Morristown, reported receiving threats from a male who resides in Barnesville.
At 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a male in a black car was driving erratically around the parking lot of Garbriel Brothers on Banfield Road near the Ohio Valley Mall. The man reportedly had his arm sticking out of the window of the vehicle and was holding on to a shopping cart.

At 7:14 a.m. Tuesday, Joseph E. Brewer, of Bellaire, was taken to Wheeling Hospital by the Cumberland Trail Emergency Squad following an accident on I-70 in Richland Township. According to the report, Andrew O. Hutton, 32, of Brandon, Miss., was driving the wrong way on the off ramp and was cited for a one-way road traffic violation.
At 10:36 p.m. Monday, Lacey J. Banks, 20, of Bellaire, was cited for failure to control following an accident on Pultney Township Road 325. According to the report, a 2002 Dodge Stratus was parked in a driveway on the west side of the road and Banks drove off the left side of the road and struck the parked vehicle in the rear.

At 2 p.m. Monday, a Flushing resident came to the station to report she was contacted by the Department of Job and Family Services and was notified that her Social Security number and birth certificate had been used to obtain public assistance in Polk County, Fla.
At 1:25 p.m. Monday, a complainant reported he was threatened by a man who had tried to sell him a home theater system in the parking lot of a local business west of St. Clairsville. The complainant said he told the man he wasn’t interested, and the man used profanity and would not back off. The man reportedly spun gravel all over the complainant and his vehicle when he left. The vehicle reportedly had West Virginia plates.
At 11:29 a.m. Monday, a caller from Wal-Mart reported a theft that had happened on Friday.
At 10:12 a.m. Monday, a complainant from West Street in Martins Ferry reported someone broke into a house and garage and stole pipes. A deputy responded and advised there was no sign of forced entry.
On Monday, James H. Schubert, 24, of 1506 N. Eighth St., Martins Ferry, was arrested for failure to comply. No bond was set.
On Monday, Christopher T. Carter, 26, of 117 1/2 Walter St., Yorkville, was arrested for trafficking in drugs. No bond was set.

On Sunday, officials received a complaint of panhandlers stopping traffic on Mall Ring Road in front of Denny’s in St. Clairsville. A unit from the department advised that this was a church group collecting donations.
At 7:19 p.m. Sunday, a caller from Neffs requested to speak with an officer in regard to threatening and harassing text massages being received from an unknown number.
At 4:45 a.m. Sunday, a caller from Heartland Nursing on Commercial Drive in Bridgeport said a “heavy amount” of narcotics was found. The caller requested an emergency squad and a police unit. All of the medication in question belonged to a resident who had not turned the medication over to the staff, the report states. The resident reportedly went by squad to the emergency room.

On Monday, Kelly H. Alfred, 26, of 1204 Highway 13, Eunice, La., was arrested for failure to appear. Cash bond of $1,000 was posted.

At 8:43 a.m. Friday, a complainant from Circle Drive reported their son’s vehicle had been entered during the night and clothing inside the car was thrown about. A wallet was found with cash and a pre-paid Visa card missing.

He realized he was going in the wrong direction and began backing east across Ohio 331. He then backed over a small embankment into a ditch.

According to the report, Carr was driving a 1998 Dodge Durango and was eastbound. Richard L. Wise, 59, of 69999 Main St., Bannock, was also eastbound and was driving a 2000 Ford F150. Wise slowed and stopped due to traffic conditions.
Carr failed to stop, swerved in an attempt to avoid Wise’s vehicle and struck the right rear bumper, a concrete curb and the right side of Wise’ vehicle.
On Monday, John E. Furbee, 56, of 575 10th St., Moundsville, was arrested for failure to appear. No bond was set.
At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Russell E. Noel, 70, of Edwardsville, Ill. and Sandra L. Johnson, 50, of 45382 Shank Road St. Clairsville, were both traveling east on I-70 in Richland Township, According to the report, Johnson slowed for traffic and was struck in the rear by Noel’s vehicle. Noel was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
At 7:39 p.m. Saturday, Terry L. Barbe, 61, of 62220 South 26 Road, Bethesda, was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram and was backing out of a private drive. A vehicle owned by Michael Funkhooser, 53685 High Ridge Road, Bridgeport, was parked in a private parking spot. Barbe backed across Township Road 425 and struck Funkhouser’s vehicle. At 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant came to the station to report someone broke into an unoccupied house he owns on Church Street in Barton and stole copper piping.
At 8:38 p.m. Wednesday, officials responded to a domestic complaint at an address on East High Street in Flushing.
At 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from a residence on U.S. 250 in Colerain reported being continuously harassed. Eggs were reportedly thrown at the complainants home overnight, and they requested extra patrols in the area.

One bag of crystal meth was also found, officials said. The driver, who was not named in the report, was taken to jail.
At 9:33 p.m. Monday, a caller from Fairpoint-New Athens Road reported a door ripped off of a trailer and Oxycodone missing.
At 6:53 p.m. Monday, a caller reported observing a person loading a shotgun in a red car in the parking lot outside of Sam’s Club in the Ohio Valley Plaza. Units responded and advised it was not a shotgun, but instead was a crossbow.

At about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a stabbing in the parking lot of Jill’s Gentleman’s Club. No arrests were made and the suspect fled on foot, according to Sheriff Pat Butler. Butler said the altercation took place between acquaintances, and was caused by an argument over a cell phone.
Butler said the victim was not cooperative at the time.
The investigation will continue once deputies look after the victim and contact the prosecutor’s office. Butler added the victim entered surgery at about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

At 3:51 p.m. Monday, an employee at Sting Ray Pressure, Executive Drive, St. Clairsville, reported an employee was let go and was giving them a hard time. A deputy responded, but the subject left prior to his arrival.
At 3:38 p.m. Monday, an employee of Boscov’s at the Ohio Valley Mall reported two shoplifters, one male and one female, who took off on foot toward another store at the mall.
At 11:38 a.m. Monday, a deputy responded to the Colerain Fire Department where personnel reported items were stolen from an ambulance.
On Monday, Donald J. Machine, 28, of 500 Crawford St., Martins Ferry, was arrested on breaking and entering charges. No bond was set.

At 7:55 p.m. Sunday, a resident reported four-wheelers were going at high speed on Helen Gregg Road, Bethesda. A deputy responded, but the four-wheelers were gone when he arrived.
At 10:26 a.m. Sunday, a representative from Awakenings on East Main Street, Belmont, reported a client who was a resident at the facility was being difficult.
The caller said they believed the client was under the influence of narcotics, according to the report. Carleen Abel, 43, was taken to jail per probate court for bond revocation.
