Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Wheeling
A police dog reportedly sniffed out drugs in a zebra-design purse during a traffic stop, leading to the arrest of a Wheeling resident and a Moundsville resident.
At 11:17 p.m. Tuesday, Wheeling police Officer Erick Burke stopped a white Ford sport-utility vehicle at the intersection of 12th and Eoff streets in East Wheeling, and recognized two occupants as known drug abusers, according to a criminal complaint.
Amber Lynn Muze, 25, of 3612 Chapline St., was arrested and charged with possession of heroin. Police also reportedly found drug paraphernalia.
Police discovered a prior, active citation for Muze on a possession charge.
Ohio County Magistrate Patty Murphy arraigned Muze and set her bond at $1,000 per charge. As of Wednesday, Muze had posted one bond, but remained in West Virginia Northern Regional Jail for the Tuesday charge, on a $1,000 recognizance bond.
Passenger Devin Devon Walker, 26, of 117 Ash Ave., Moundsville, was also arrested on drug possession charges, allegedly for having rocks of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He has a prior shoplifting charge, as well, according to court documents.
He posted $1,000 bond set by Murphy on the possession charge, and $250 on another warrant for failure to appear in court.
