BARNESVILLE – Joe’s Tire provides a variety of options for local shoppers during the Christmas season and year-round.

Nathan Blake, spokesman for the business with locations in Barnesville, St. Clairsville, Powhatan Point and New Martinsville, said good tires are a high priority during winter weather. This is true whether you want to ensure your own vehicle is in good running condition or if you want to buy tires as a gift for a loved one to help ensure they stay safe when on the road.

“We are not offering any specials so to speak, but we obviously, with the weather changing, we are focused on making sure our customers have really high-quality, all-season tires and they are ready for travel over the holidays if people are still doing that,” Blake said.

He added that the business offers reliable tires for people who are counting on their vehicle’s ability to take to the roads for basic tasks during the snowfall. It also offers custom wheels, and mechanical work such as oil changes, wheel alignment, brake service and suspension repair.

The coronavirus motivated Joe’s Tire to offer more choices for customers to use technology in shopping.

“We have been luckier than some industries, but we have definitely felt the effects of COVID on the business as a whole,” Blake said. “We’ve just launched a new website at joestire.com that allows people to reserve a bay and schedule their appointments online so that they can just show up at their appointed time. They know they’re going to get in and get out, so cut some of those wait times inside the building,”

The business’ precautions against infection include standard safeguards such as placing plexiglass partitions between employees and customers as well as social distancing requirements.

“Our core values really stem from safety and being trustworthy and doing really good work for the people that we see in the grocery stores, that we see in restaurants, that we see when we are out,” Blake said. “A dollar that you spend locally gets spent seven times more inside that community than if you shop at, say, a national chain.”
