Grand Vue Park Pool Construction Underway

Grand Vue Park broke ground earlier this month on their new pool, which is hoped to serve as an attractive destination for guests of all ages.

The new pool is slated to open by summer 2023, having been closed since 2021 as part of a larger project which included the addition of a 40-spot RV park. General Manager Craig White said contractors broke ground on the pool in early July, tearing down parts of nearby structures to make room for the pool facility.

White said the new pool will be an upgrade both in terms of capacity, to accommodate the larger number of guests staying at the RV park, as well as a wider variety of attractions.

“We’re excited to get this thing rolling,” White said. “It’ll be something that will be capable of being used by everyone – every age group, every ability. Our old pool just wouldn’t have been big enough to handle the RV park, the number of people we’re putting in the pool, as well as what we’ve tried to provide for the county.

“Before, our pool was great for little kids and grandparents, but teenagers wouldn’t come here. This pool will have something for everybody, whether you’re a lap swimmer, you want a diving board, a climbing wall, slides, a water walk, if you want to play some basketball in the pool. If you’re a little child, you can have a beach entry with a splash pad; there’s something for everyone.”

In the meantime, White said guests who stay at the park will receive free passes to the local pool of their choice across Marshall County.

“Anybody who’s been staying at our cabins, we provide them passes to all the local pools, and I cover that tab,” White said. “Any of our guests still get to use the Four Seasons, Benwood, Glen Dale, McMechen’s pools … and we get billed at the end of the year for that.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
