WHEELING – In what has become an Easter season tradition in the Ohio Valley, the passion play “He’s Alive!” will hold its 19th performance as it returns to the Capitol Theatre on March 31-April 2.
Performance admission is free and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations are needed. Performances on March 31 and April 1 will begin at 7:30 p.m., while the April 2 performance will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Doors open one hour before each performance.
According to Heaven Bound Ministries, which produces and directs the show, “He’s Alive” was first presented at a local church as an Easter cantata in 1996. The show has evolved since then, enhanced with additional music, scenes and character portrayals. The production now boasts a cast and crew of nearly 300 volunteers from throughout the tri-state area.
The show depicts the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and organizers say more than 4,000 people each year come to the Capitol Theatre to watch the performances.
Heaven Bound Ministries – a non-profit, non-denominational organization devoted to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Christian entertainment via music, drama, humor and the spoken word – is governed by a board of directors: Brenda Hetzel, Paul Smith, Richard Headlee and Jeannie Pierce Waychoff.
