WLU Athletics Partners With United Way for Annual Campaign Kickoff

WEST LIBERTY — West Liberty University Athletics has announced a new partnership with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley as part of United Way’s Annual Campaign kickoff, set to take place Saturday during the Hilltoppers’ home football game against Seton Hill University.

Each September, United Way chapters across the nation launch their annual fundraising campaigns to support critical programs and services in their communities.

“We’re proud to partner with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley for this important cause,” said West Liberty University Athletic Director Brad Forshey. “Our student-athletes, fans, and alumni know the value of community, and this is a chance to celebrate that while supporting programs that make a difference right here at home.”

Game Day Activities

Fans attending Saturday’s game will notice several initiatives designed to highlight the United Way campaign and bring the community together:

– Team Entrance Through United Way Banner — The Hilltoppers will charge onto the field by running through a United Way sign, symbolizing teamwork and community impact.

– United Way Coin Toss — Representatives from United Way will take part in the pregame coin toss to officially launch the campaign alongside the game.

– 50/50 Raffle — A special raffle will be held during the game, with proceeds supporting United Way initiatives in the Upper Ohio Valley.

– Score for a Cause — Fans will have the opportunity to be selected for a field goal opportunity at halftime. Proceeds will support local United Way initiatives.
