Members of the Miracle League of the Ohio Valley perform “Let It Go” from “Frozen” during the league’s annual Christmas performance on Saturday at Wheeling Park High School’s J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center.

The J.B. Chambers Performing Arts Center at Wheeling Park High School was full of Christmas spirit Saturday, as the Miracle League of the Ohio Valley held its fourth-annual Christmas program.

Dozens of members of the Miracle League — which empowers those with disabilities to live life to their fullest potential — acted out some holiday favorites on the J.B. Chambers stage, each clad in costumes that enhanced the fun.

Miracle League President Lorraine McCardle said that, in the four years since the Christmas program began, it has grown into a highlight of the year. The Wheeling Park High School parking lot was packed as hundreds watched the league members perform.

“I love it,” she said. “It’s such a wonderful, wonderful thing. These kids practice every week for a couple of months and on the day of the show, they’re fantastic.”

The performance is just another way that the Miracle League of the Ohio Valley can fulfill its mission, she said.

“You see the smiles on their faces … they love it,” McCardle said. “They can do it. Just make it adaptable for them, and anything’s possible.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
