McMechen VFD Brings Back Street Fair Tradition

McMECHEN — After more than two decades, the McMechen Volunteer Fire Department is proud to bring back a longtime community tradition with the return of the McMechen VFD Street Fair on July 10 and July 11, followed by the Hometown Reunion Dinner on July 12. The Street Fair will be held at Ninth and Marshall streets in McMechen and will feature games, food, bingo, live music, entertainment, refreshments and family-friendly activities. Felony Convictions Handed Down in Ohio County

WHEELING – Ohio County Prosecuting Attorney Shawn Turak on Thursday announced two separate felony convictions stemming from local cases. Defendants in both cases were sentenced to prison. Brooke Dulaney appeared before the Honorable Michael Olejasz on July 2 for sentencing. She was convicted of the felony offense of Driving a Vehicle in an Impaired State Causing Serious Bodily Injury to Another on May 13 of this year. Garibaldi Lodge Turns 100 With Music, Miles and Memories

FOLLANSBEE — A parade and 5K race are in the works as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Garibaldi Lodge. The Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge was incorporated in October 1926 in Follansbee as a fellowship and service organization for the community’s Italian residents and their descendants. Among its local activities was the organization of an annual celebration held the first weekend of August for 60 years until 2004.
