WILLIAM H. STOEHR JR.

He was born February 16, 1944, in Wheeling, son of the late William Stoehr, Sr. and Rose Murphy Stoehr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Suzann Marie Stoehr; and a brother, Keith Stoehr.

William, sometimes known as “Butch,” was an avid sports fan and participant, attending West Virginia University football games, coaching his daughters’ volleyball team, and playing in tennis his whole life. He loved watching his granddaughters’ sporting events and performances. William was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Dr. Paige Suzanne (Dr. Todd Moores) Stoehr and Dr. Erin Virginia (Dr. Chad Anderson) Stoehr; grandchildren, Towne, Reese and Harper Moores and Blair and Drew Anderson; brothers, Ronald (Marie) Stoehr and Jon Stoehr; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Rd., Wheeling, with Father Carlos L. Melocoton, Jr. as celebrant.

Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
