JAMES MARTIN

He was born April 30, 1976 in Wheeling, a son of James and Donna (Jackson) Martin. Regis was a dedicated coal miner and worked diligently and tirelessly for many years. He had a passion for playing darts, enjoying movies with family and would often gaze at the sky, fascinated by its vastness and mysteries, and enjoyed pondering the existence of aliens. Above everything else he loved spending time with his children and family, making countless memories.

Regis is preceded in death by his Grandma Nancy Rainbow.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his four children, Javen Martin, Taylah Rutherford, Isaac Martin and DaMari Lantz; one grandson, Ma’Kai Coles; two siblings, LeMoyne Jackson and Delvonda Jackson; his significant other, Tegwen Starks; several nieces, nephews and friends, including his best friends, Edward Robinson and Sheldon Simms. Regis touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Regis’s life on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 1 to 5 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St.
