MARY KAY EVANKO
Mary Kay Welch Evanko, 87, formerly of Wheeling, passed away on Monday January 5, 2026, in UPMC Passavant surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 8, 1938 in Wheeling, daughter of the late George and Jacqueline Welch.
Mary Kay attended St. Michael’s Church, and retired from the Ohio County Schools. She enjoyed lunches with friends in Wheeling and working out and Bingo at her residence in Warrendale. She loved spending time with family but her greatest joy was sharing stories about her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Evanko, Sr.; sisters Joan Kaltenbach and Nancy Howley.
She is survived by her sister June Paull; two sons, Edward M. (Kelly) Evanko, Jr., Eric M. Evanko; daughter, Elaine M. (Doug) Howe; grandchildren, Edward M. (Karli) Evanko, III., Brittany (Brian) Ingledue, Abigail Evanko, Derek Howe, Dylan Howe; great grandchildren, Aleia Evanko, Edward M. Evanko, IV., Brooklyn Evanko, Deon Ingledue, Bentley Ingledue and Arianna Ingledue.
Friends and family will be received on Friday January 9, 2026, at Kepner Funeral Homes, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732) from 2-4 pm and again from 6-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday January 10, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1225 National Rd., Wheeling at 10:30 am with Father Carlos officiating.
Interment will follow Mass in Greenwood Cemetery.
