Margaret “Maggie” Virginia Thomas, age 87, of Wheeling, earned her wings on October 13, 2024, and joined her loving husband, Arthur Jerry Thomas, in heaven. Margaret was one of nine children born to Ethel and James Edwards. Margaret was a graduate of the B. M. Spurr School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She flourished in her career and ultimately stepped away to devote her time to her four growing daughters. After her daughters were grown, she found a new “working family” at Hill’s Department Store. He was born October 27, 1933, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Paul Burdette Nelson, Sr. and Esther Eleanor Porter Nelson. Bill retired after 45 years as the General Manager of the Wheeling Automobile Club (AAA). He was a past member of the Wheeling Traffic Commission, and Board of Directors at the Chambers YMCA. Phillip Noah Nodurft, 94, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. Born July 28, 1930 in Lyons, KS, he was the son of the late Claude Edward and Mary Pearl Olivier Nodurft. He graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1948, then served in the U.S. Air Force until 1952. A hard worker, Phillip worked several jobs, but particularly enjoyed his time working for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company as a Junior Engineer, and as a handyman in his retirement years.
