Lois Arlene Mitchell, 70, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Friday, November 10, 2023. She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on August 16, 1953, daughter of the late Carl Arthur and Lois Kathryn Mitchell (nee Ehni). Lois was a life-long resident of Martins Ferry. She graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1971 and joined the Martins Ferry school system upon graduating from Ohio University in 1975. He was born February 4, 1938; son of the late Earl and Rachel Harbison Downs. He was a former production worker at Bayer Chemical Plant with twenty-eight years of service; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports, especially basketball; he was a former basketball player at Moundsville High School.
