Lois Arlene Mitchell, 70, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Friday, November 10, 2023. She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on August 16, 1953, daughter of the late Carl Arthur and Lois Kathryn Mitchell (nee Ehni). Lois was a life-long resident of Martins Ferry. She graduated from Martins Ferry High School in 1971 and joined the Martins Ferry school system upon graduating from Ohio University in 1975. She taught elementary school and was an elementary principal in Martins Ferry for her entire 35 year career, retiring in 2009. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, and was a ...

James Harbison Downs, age 85, of Benwood, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 9, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1938; son of the late Earl and Rachel Harbison Downs. He was a former production worker at Bayer Chemical Plant with twenty-eight years of service; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and all sports, especially basketball; he was a former basketball player at Moundsville High School.
