John W. “Jack” Pogue of Wheeling, WV passed away on June 19, 2023 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born on August 14, 1942 to the late Ford and Jane Pogue. John was an Army Veteran and worked at Wheeling Corrugating and Warwood Tool among other places. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates & Penguins. Surviving are a sister, Betty J. Josephine Louise Ruthers Taggart, 97, of Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at her daughter’s home. She was born September 30, 1925, daughter of the late Lewis and Bessie White Ruthers. Josephine was a member of the Short Creek United Methodist Church, where she formerly taught Sunday School, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Miriam Chapter of Bethany, WV. Jean A. (Jacobs) Walter, 81, passed away on June 22, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Atwood T. and Alberta Jacobs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Ronald H. Jacobs. Surviving are two sons Roger (Charlene) Walter and David (Jill) Walter, four grandsons Corey (Richelle) Walter, Cody Walter, Michael and Mattew Walter, and one grand daughter Riley Murphy.
