There’s nothing like a garden party with family and friends, great food and live music. On a beautiful warm night, Welty Home residents and their families enjoyed a summer garden party hosted by the Welty Home staff.

More than 60 guests joined Welty’s 52 residents and dozens of staff for the garden party. “We were happy that so many family and friends could join us for the party,” said Tess Gaudino, Welty Home manager. “Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening.”

Entertainers Tim Amos & Company performed a lovely mix of popular and sacred music to much acclaim from the crowd.

“We have entertainment and activities almost every day, but this party was something special,” Gaudino said. “Our staff worked all day to make everything perfect for our residents and their guests.”

Judging from attendees’ reactions, they appreciated the extra effort. “The event turned out beautifully and the food was excellent,” said Welty Home resident Clara Presutti. “I truly enjoyed the cheerful company, and my children were very impressed. It’s one of the best events I’ve attended.”

Resident Alvin Bandi called it one of the best outdoor activities he’s ever attended. “The food was delicious and the selection couldn’t be beat. I had planned on just going in to the dining room for the meal, but I’m so glad I went outside to the garden,” he said. “I loved having my family join me. And the band was so good.”

The weather, food and band were highlights mentioned by resident Dorothy Crawford. “The event was very nice, and I loved having my family attend so we could spend time together,” she said. “It was well prepared and I’m sure it was a lot of hard work. The staff did an absolutely excellent job.”

Wheeling resident Netch Musser, whose mother resides at Welty Home, said the party was a wonderful family event. “I so appreciate the staff’s hard work to put it together. The food was delicious and the evening could not have been nicer,” she said. “My mother and my family thoroughly enjoyed our time together.”
