Editor, News-Register: The importance of the natural gas and oil industry has never been more evident. The war in Ukraine, inflation, and skyrocketing energy prices have demonstrated how essential the industry is to our daily lives. Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 5.6% of total U.S. employment and generates an enormous amount of economic benefits across the country. Editor, News-Register: According to Marc Thiessen, the climate measures in the Inflation Reduction Act are merely “virtue signaling” for the benefit of the “climate-obsessed” because, according to Thiessen, they will have only a small impact on greenhouse gas emissions (“Act Won’t Reduce Inflation,” Aug. 28th).
