WVU Football Lands Commitment From 2027 Wide Receiver

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia football earned another commitment to start the week. Three-star wide receiver and athlete Carter Davis announced on social media that he's committed to the Mountaineers for the class of 2027. Davis is another recruit WVU and Rich Rodriguez stole from other Power Four schools. The Gulf Shores, Alabama, native picked the Mountaineers over Mississippi State, who was in hot pursuit, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn and multiple other top programs. Miles Russell was among two 17-year-olds who earned a spot in the U.S. Open on Monday. Still to be determined was whether Russell brings his caddie from the 36-hole qualifier — the son of three-time champion Tiger Woods — to Shinnecock Hills next week.
