GLEN DALE - Some things never change.
Linsly won its 27th OVAC Tennis title Tuesday when it finished the two-day event with 25 points to repeat as boys Class 1A-4A champions. The Cadets did it with two individual champions and a pair of runner ups on the six-court setup at John Marshall High School.
Weir was second in Class 1A-4A with six points.
Linsly’s Pablo Aranguren defeated Morgantown’s Max Phillips-Hartley 8-4 to capture the No. 1 singles title. Matteo Guzzo claimed the No. 4 singles title with an 8-6 decision over Morgantown's Max Chen.
Teammates Diego Consuegra (No. 2 singles) and Andrew Hoang (No. 3) both lost tough matches in the finals.
Consuegra, the top seed at No. 2 singles, fell 8-6 to second-seeded Bennett Hall of Morgantown, and second-seeded Hoang dropped an 8-0 match to top-seeded Wyatt Abbitt of Morgantown.
The Mohigans scored 24 points to win the Class 5A crown.
University edged out Parkersburg South, 10-9, for second place.
Today the girls get started with doubles action at 8 a.m.
