RAYLAND – Buckeye Local, Martins Ferry and Shadyside took to Bec-Wood Hills Golf Course for one of the first golf outings of the high school season, with the Purple Riders outperforming the field with a team score of 162 against the Panthers’ 179 and Shadyside’s 190.

Dylan Pielech and Conner Best each shot 40’s while Nolan Zamburi and Mike Green each finished at 41 strokes to make their total.

Kamden Kinyo and Dugan Dobrovich also each carded 40’s, with Kinyo winning a four-person playoff to earn medalist honors.

Brandon O’Grady shot a 46 to lead Shadyside.
