High School Roundup: Martins Ferry Shuts Out Cambridge, 36-0
CAMBRIDGE – Martins Ferry (5-2) continued its recent surge with a 36-0 blanking of Cambridge Friday night on the artificial surface at McFarland Stadium.
Colby Kropka threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth score from 23 yards out. He connected with Maurice Barnett on scoring strikes of 51 and 18.
He also connected with Elijah Robey for 61 yards.
Walkquem Cox returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown.
Bloom Carroll 24, St. Clairsville 15
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Luke Shafer threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Jaxon Starks and Ollie Muhley had a touchdown run but the Red Devils fell to the visiting Bulldogs.
Sam McLean ran for 31 yards and passed for 24. Starks had two catches for 42.
Cameron’s Offense Beats Out Valley
PINE GROVE — The Cameron Dragons defeated the Valley Lumberjacks in a shootout Friday, 50-36.
The homestanding Lumberjacks received big days from Koleton Kincaid and Gaige Wichterman. Kincaid finished with 112 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Wichterman finished at 136 yards with a score. Ryder Gravette (46 rushing yards, one touchdown) and Griffin Briggs (55 rushing yards, one touchdown) also helped an effective Valley ground game.
Kincaid led the team with 13 tackles on defense.
