MOUNDSVILLE — John Marshall ruled their namesake invitational on Saturday at Grand Vue Park, with the Monarchs’ Zoe Zervos finishing first in the girls’ race and fellow Monarch Carson Fitzpatrick taking third place in the boys’ race.

Zoe Zervos clocked a 20:46.60 to finish 17 seconds ahead of the next-fastest finisher, teammate Kalyn Reese. Yet another Monarch, Lily Williams, finished third, Wheeling Park’s McKenna Guthoerl finished fourth and Madonna’s Sophia Soly finished fifth.

On the boys’ side, it was Wheeling Park’s Tyler Bishop who crossed the finish line first in 18:01.70, 17 seconds ahead of second-place Riley Dennis, hailing from Magnolia. Fitzpatrick came in third, John Marshall’s Brodie Baker finished fourth and Wheeling Park’s Asher Deal finished in fifth.
