PREP ROUNDUP: John Marshall Storms by Magnolia; Wheeling Central Boys and Girls Both Sweep

KIDWELL — John Marshall led 28-8 after one quarter and 51-19 at the half en route to a 93-36 decision over Magnolia Saturday in the Boggs Roundball Classic at Tyler Consolidated High School.

Paislee Babiczuk charted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds in leading the Monarchs (9-4). Kalyn Reese scored 22 points, while Kaylee White went for 16 and Riley Storm added a dozen.

Shadyside 55, Bridgeport 17

SHADYSIDE — The host Tigers held a 35-7 halftime lead and never looked back against the Bulldogs.

Kaci Tsoras netted a game-best 20 points and Cam Kolvek added 14 for Shadyside.

Hanna Brewer led Bridgeport with nine points.

Wheeling Central 68, E. Fairmont 35

FAIRMONT — The Maroon Knights bounced back from a loss last Thursday in impressive fashion, taking down the homesteading Bees Saturday night.

Central (9-2) raced out to an 18-4 lead after one and never looked back.

Junior Bella Fitzsimmons led the way for the Knights, scoring 23 points. Seniors Seneca Heller and Haley Severns went for 15 and 12, respectively. Erin Maxwell added nine.

Monroe Central 52, Wheeling Park 48

WOODSFIELD — The Seminoles (13-3) completed their season sweep of the visiting Patriots on Junior Winland Court as Brylee McFrederick recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Jacey English knocked down five three-point goals en route to 17 points for the winner. She also charted six steals.

Leah Young paced Wheeling Park with 11 points, one more than Brielle Wells.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Wheeling Central 91, Tyler Consolidated 50

KIDWELL — The Maroon Knights made it two wins in as many days in the Boggs Roundball event at Tyler Consolidated High School thanks to a decisive victory against the hosts.

Wheeling Central (10-0) was led by senior Eli Sancomb, who poured in 26 points. Classmate Max Olejasz posted 14 points, while junior Luke Sancomb added 11 tallies.
