Lions Club Grateful
The Warren Township Lions Club would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who have supported our efforts and projects during the year. We loved your attendance and feedback at our summer “Concerts in the Park” season as we tried our best to provide a variety of music and concessions. We especially thank our performers and concession operators for their time, effort, and talents. A very special thanks goes out to all of you in the public who attended regularly and found our little park so pleasant and inviting. We are looking forward to a program for next summer that will have something for everyone. Since we use no public funding or grants, your contributions enable us the means to provide this wonderful entertainment.
During the past year, the Warren Township Lions Club also supported our community by providing the following: Free breakfast with Santa for children and adults; sponsoring a girl for Girl Scout Camp; birthday books for all students at Buckeye South Elementary; two $500 scholarships for Seniors at Buckeye Local High School; dance pad at Warren Township Park; picnic tables at Buckeye South Elementary; glasses for those in need; support for the “Back to School Bash”; Christmas stockings for Buckeye Local Junior High and Angel Tree gifts for students at South Elementary, as well as support for Valley Hospice. Other activities include: collecting old glasses to be refurbished for use; picking up trash on Route 7 from Rayland to Yorkville, including the ramps; and participation in the YTR Christmas Tree Program and Christmas Parade.
To support our endeavors, we currently are selling tickets for our Holiday Cash Giveaway. Some lucky people will win $1000, $500, or $250 to be given away at our November 8 Lions meeting. If you would like to serve your community and enjoy the company of others, we always are looking for new members. Come and join us!
