WHEELING – The speaker at the Tuesday, Aug. 11, meeting of the Ohio County Master Gardeners will be Takako Sachse. She will be demonstrating Ikebana, the classic Japanese art of flower arranging. The meeting will be held 6:30 p.m., at Vance Memorial Church, 905 National Road. New Good Zoo Director to Visit Newcomers Club

WHEELING – The Newcomers Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Generations Restaurant, 338 National Road, Wheeling. The guest speaker for August will be Amy Rutherford, the new director of Oglebay Good Zoo. Rutherford will discuss plans for the zoo, including the new Gary E. West Pridelands habitat and lodging. WHEELING – The Ohio County Public Library's next Lunch With Books program will explore some of the founding women of the American Revolution. The program will take place at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the library in downtown Wheeling.
