Iafrates Reach 60 Years
Mr. and Mrs. Loreto “88” Iafrate of Follansbee will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, Sept. 4.
They were united in marriage Sept. 4, 1954 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Steubenville.
Madeline Iafrate is retired from the business office of Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville.
In his youth, Loreto Iafrate opened his own barber shop on Main Street in Follansbee. It is a business that has not only become a landmark of the community but also an Iafrate family legacy when his daughter, Loretta, began working alongside him. He is a member of Theta Chi Alpha, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Follansbee Lions Club.
They are the parents of five children. The family includes Cindy Margolis of California; Gloria Bilancio and her husband, Ivan, of California; Loretta Thomas and her husband, Ed, of Follansbee; Mary Leon and her husband, Jim, of Columbus and Louis Iafrate and his wife, Gretchen, of Pittsburgh. They have eight grandchildren.
The Iafrates will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by their friends and family.
