Robert “Bob” and Nancy Dierkes of Mount Olivet celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 6.

They were united in marriage Sept. 6, 1969 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, Wheeling, by the late Rev. James Myles.

Nancy Dierkes is the daughter of the late Charles R. and N. Bernice Pelkey of Wheeling. She is a retired art and craft instructor with West Virginia Northern Community College and floral designer with Wheeling Flower Shop.

Bob Dierkes is the son of the late George and Mildred Dierkes of Wheeling. He has been employed for the past 30 years with Altmeyer Funeral Homes of Wheeling as purchasing agent.

They are the parents of a daughter. The family includes Jennifer “Bluie” Eder and her husband, Chuck, of Maryland. They have three grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate with a surprise anniversary trip in October planned by Bob Dierkes.
