Richard and Pamela Ferguson of Wellsburg celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 25.

They were united in marriage Oct. 25, 1969 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wellsburg, with the Rev. Daniel Kirwin officiating.

Pamela Ferguson taught Spanish and French for 25 years at Brooke, Buckeye Local and Steubenville high schools.

Richard Ferguson worked as a journeyman electrician for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 246 Building Trades. He also served in Brooke County law enforcement for 14 years, including terms as Brooke County sheriff.

They have three sons, Todd, Chad and Cory. They have six grandchildren.

The couple plans to celebrate during a trip.
