Sickles Celebrate 30th

Kenn and Cheryl Sickle of St. Clairsville will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 9.

They were united in marriage Nov. 9, 1984 at Friends Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Clairsville, with the Rev. Wayne Ickes officiating.

Cheryl Sickle is the former Cheryl Schwender Murray. She is the daughter of the late Harold O. and Adabelle Davis Schwender of Martins Ferry. She is a secretary for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston.

Kenn Sickle is the son of the late William H. and Evelyn Matheas Sickle. He grew up in Mount Pleasant and graduated from Ohio University, Athens, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. Currently, he serves as pastor of the First Presbyterian churches of Mingo Junction and Brilliant.

They have three children. The family includes Larry Murray and his fiancee, Cynthia Bickerstaff, of Wintersville; Adam Murray and his wife, Rose, of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Mallory Vopal and her husband, Christopher, of Pittsburgh. Four grandchildren complete the family.

The Sickles celebrated their anniversary by renewing vows in their garden with the Rev. Erica Harley officiating on Sunday, Aug. 3. Their children and family friends were in attendance.
