Bartletts Honor 60th
Robert “Bob” Bartlett and Dorothy Hoyt Bartlett of McMechen celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Dec. 4.
They were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in South Wheeling on Dec. 4, 1954, where they renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004. They are active members of Trinity.
Bob Bartlett served four years in the U.S. Air Force; he was stationed in Alaska for three years following basic training and school. He was employed at Bayer Chemical Co. in New Martinsville for 24 years and retired in 1993 as a shift foreman.
Dorothy Bartlett worked as a secretary at Union Junior High School in Benwood for 30 years, retiring in 1998. After retirement, they both worked part-time for their son’s medical billing service in Pittsburgh and retired again in 2010.
They are the parents of three sons: Robert “Greg” Bartlett of Beckley, W.Va., Donald Bartlett of Orlando, Fla. and Bruce Bartlett of Pittsburgh. They have four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
