Ralph and Velinda Phillips of New Martinsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Dec. 11. They were united in marriage at the Pine Grove Church of Christ by Donald Kline.

Ralph Phillips is the son of the late Ralph F. and Betty Phillips of Pine Grove. He is a former employee of PPG and was the Wetzel County assessor 30 years.

Velinda Phillips is the daughter of the late Lewis and Iva Gene (Arens) Allen of Mobley. She was employed as a teacher at Hundred High School and then was a 4-H home demonstration agent for four years. She retired as a business teacher from Magnolia High School in 2001.

They are members of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

The family includes son Jon of Charleston and son Allen (Tasha) of New Martinsville. They have six grandchildren.
