Cathy and Ed Deagel of Moundsville celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, March 8.

They were united in marriage March 8, 1975 at Hillview Church of Christ by Gene West, evangelist. Attendants were Linda Masters, sister of the bride, and Jim Hostutler.

Cathy Deagel is the daughter of the late Clarence and Imogene Sole of Moundsville. She was formerly employed at Reynolds Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse.

Ed Deagel is the son of the late Charles and Virginia Deagel of Wheeling. He was formerly employed by Gast Bakery and was owner of Deagels’ Pastries and More until its closing in 2001 because of his illness.

They have three children. The family includes Christopher and his wife, Abby, of Moundsville; Kristina Odom and her husband, Justin, of Fairfield, Ill., and David and his wife, Amanda, of Washington, Pa. They have two grandsons and seven granddaughters.

They celebrated with a small family gathering with their children and grandchildren.
