Hummels Reach 50th
Joyce and Joseph Hummel of St. Clairsville, formerly of Glen Dale, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 27.
They were united in marriage June 26, 1965 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev. Bernard Vogler officiating.
Joyce Hummel is the daughter of the late Henry and Martha Baranowski. She is a 1959 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling, and Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing. She is retired from Ohio Valley Medical Center after 30 years of service in various nursing staff and management positions. She also is retired from West Virginia Maternal Child Health Care Special Needs Program, serving as case manager and clinic nurse for families with special needs children in Northern Panhandle counties.
Joseph Hummel is the son of the late Margaret Rine and Joe Hummel Sr. He is a graduate of Triadelphia High School and Belmont College in criminal justice. He is retired from 50 years of law enforcement, serving Marshall and Belmont counties and Shield Security Services, St. Clairsville.
They are the parents of two children, Camella “Cammy” Hummel of Mason, Ohio, and Melissa “Missie” Milam of McMechen. They have two grandchildren.
They celebrated the occasion with an an open-house party at the Vagabond Kitchen, McLure House, Wheeling, with family, friends and bridal party members.
