Lee and Dorothy Merinar of Wheeling will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary today, Aug. 23.

They were united in marriage Aug. 23, 1950, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elm Grove, Wheeling, with the Rev. E.J. Schlick, S.M., officiating.

Dorothy Merinar is the daughter of the late Pete and Dara Langmyer. She is a registered nurse retired from Good Shepherd Nursing Home, where she was employed as a nursing supervisor.

Lee Merinar is the son of the late Hubert and Virginia Merinar. He was a heavy equipment operator for Griffith Brothers Construction and later for Savage Construction Co. He is a retired member of the IUOE Local 132.

They have four sons, Kenneth, Marty, Jeff and Stanley.

They have seven grandchildren, including one set of twins, and nine great-grandchildren, including two sets of twins.

Following Mass today at St. Vincent’s, they will celebrate with their family.
