Russ and Mary Taylor of Moundsville are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Aug. 28.

They were united in marriage Aug. 28, 1965, at Wood Hill Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Hill officiating.

Mary Taylor is the daughter of the late Thurman and Sarah Margret Hill. She is a 1965 graduate of Moundsville High School and retired from Marshall County Schools after 27 years of service. She is a superior baker.

Russ Taylor is the son of the late Bill and Elizabeth Taylor. He is a 1965 graduate of Moundsville High School. He worked eight years with Consolidated Coal and 34 years as an addiction counselor. He is the former director of Dr. Lee Jones Miracles Happens Center/Healthways. He remains active in the counseling field.

They are the parents of two children, Shelly (Fred) Weaver of Sherrard and Jodie (John) Canter of Martins Ferry. They have five grandchildren.

They celebrated the occasion with family at Holden Beach, N.C.
