Soults Celebrate 65th
Florajean and John E. Soult of Martins Ferry will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Sept. 30.
They were united in marriage on Sept. 30, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry, by the Rev. Paul W.O. Heist.
John Soult is the son of the late Elwood and Mabel (Coffman) Soult. He was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Elkins. He is a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and is retired from a 30-year career at Martins Ferry Public Library, where he served as a former coordinator of and driver for the bookmobile.
Florajean is the daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Wodarczek) Blum. She retired from a 25-year career with Ohio University Eastern Campus library, having been recruited by Dr. E.R. Bovenizer when the OU branch first opened in 1957 at Martins Ferry High School.
The Soults raised three daughters: Su Saunders of Harpers Ferry; Salli Nelson of Columbus and Barb at home. They have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family is hosting a celebratory dinner in their honor.
