Straubs Celebrate 65th Anniversary

Raymond and Delores (Bauman) Straub of Sardis will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 12.

They were united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1950.

Ray Straub is the son of the late Fred and Freda Straub. Along with his father and brothers, he did custom machine work and grain threshing for many farmers and served his country as a U.S. Marine. He retired from Conalco and as an agent and director from German Farmers Mutual Insurance. He is an active member of American Legion Post 760 in Hannibal.

Delores Straub is the daughter of the late Fred and Daisy Bauman. She worked as a nurse’s aide until she became a mother. From that time on, she devoted her time to taking care of her family and continues that job still today, baking, cooking and canning.

Together, they faithfully attend Zion United Church of Christ, where they have been a strong presence, always participating and supporting in whatever way they could.

They have two daughters: Deb (Rich) Kellner of Shadyside and Mona (Doug) Duvall of Sardis. They have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family invites all family and friends to an open house luncheon from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at the Hilltop Community Center on Ohio 536, Hannibal. The couple requests no gifts. Cards may be sent to 42200 Township Road 404, Sardis, OH 43946.
