Gerald H. and Marilyn V. Burkle celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Wednesday.

They were united in marriage on May 25, 1991, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elm Grove, Wheeling, with the Rev. Raymond Carr officiating.

Marilyn Burkle is the daughter of the late Gerard W. and Mary E. Schroeder. She retired in 1993 from the Children’s Home of Wheeling.

Gerald Burkle is the son of the late William H. and Adelaide A. Burkle. He is retired from Western-Southern Life as a sales manager.

The family includes David and Judith Burkle of Stafford, Va., and two grandchildren.

The couple celebrated at a surprise party given by family members at Generations Restaurant and also will be taking a trip to Florida.
