George and Sally Gray Schmalz of Wheeling are celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary today. They were united in marriage on June 26, 1971, at Christ United Methodist Church in Wheeling, with the Rev. F. Emerson Wood officiating. Sally Schmalz is the daughter of the late Calvin and Odessa Gray. She retired as a kindergarten teacher from McNinch Elementary School in Moundsville after 33 years of service. George Schmalz is the son of the late George and Helen Schmalz. He retired as an ironworker from Local 549. Since retirement, they have been avid travelers. They have three children. The family includes George (Lysa Le) of New York City, Allyson (Adam) Hince of Cranberry Township, Pa., and Erik of State College, Pa. They celebrated with a family trip to Walt Disney World.
