Darla J. Morris and Richard W. Beaver Jr. of Moundsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

They were united in marriage on July 23, 1966, in the Calvary United Methodist Church in Moundsville. Paul Tucker was best man. Gary Francis and the late Sam Williams were ushers. Marcelyn Romines Hanlon was maid of honor, and the late Phyllis Carter was a bridesmaid.

Darla Beaver is a retired office manager for the Altmeyer Funeral Home in Moundsville, where she served for more than 20 years.

Richard Beaver is retired from Consol Energy, Ireland Mine, with 43 years of service. Both are still active with the Altmeyer Funeral Home.

They are the parents of one daughter, Rikke Michele, who married Ted C. Fritz on her parents’ anniversary in 1994. Two grandchildren complete the family.

The family celebrated both anniversaries with a trip to the Southwest U.S. desert.
