Henrietta and Eddie Jackfert of Wellsburg celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on Aug. 16.

They were united in marriage on Aug. 16, 1947, by the Rev. James at the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsburg.

Ed Jackfert served five years with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He later became a special agent with the intelligence division of the Internal Revenue Service, specializing in the field of organized crime and corruption of public officials, under the direction of late U.S. Attorney Robert (Bobbie) Kennedy. He is now associated with the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor Museum, Research and Educational Foundation housed at the Brooke County Public Library in Wellsburg.

They have two daughters, Jody and Janice of Tampa, Fla. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren complete the family.
